  • Zimbabwe (301-8) made a score of 300 or more for the tenth time.
  • Andy Blignaut (58) reached his fifty off just 32 balls. He had completed his fifty off just 25 balls in the game against Australia on February 24. Blignuat thus became the first ever batsman in World Cup history to reach fifty off 32 or lesser balls on two separate occasions.
  • Heath Streak (44* off 22 balls, SR 200.00) achieved the second best scoring rate among the Zimbabwean batsmen making atleast 40 runs in an innings. The record is still on the name of Douglas Marillier who scored 56* runs off just 24 balls (SR 233.33) against India at Faridabad in 2002.
  • The two wickets in this match took Tim de Leede’s tally of wickets to ten from 12 matches. He became first Holland bowler to take 10 wickets in a career.
  • Henry Olonga became fourth Zimbabwean to take a catch as a substitute in a World Cup match. Others to do so are Gerald Peckover (v India at Leicester in 1983), Andrew Whittall (v Sri Lanka at Worcester in 1999) and Sean Ervine (v Australia at Bulawayo on February 24, 2003).
