by Muhammad Asim

Scorecard:Pakistan v South Africa

Pakistan rode on Shoaib Akhtar's fearsome pace to end a 14-match losing streak against South Africa with a sensational 67-run win in the Sharjah Cup. Shoaib picked up three wickets in one over as Pakistan, defending a modest total of 168, fought back to bowl out under-strength South Africa for 101 in just 26.5 overs. Opener Herschelle Gibbs was left stranded on 59 not out as South Africa lost their last eight wickets for only 27 runs. Earlier, the Pakistanis got no respite from the depleted South African attack after Moin won his fourth toss in a row and elected to bat. The Pakistanis slumped to 61-5 in the 24th over, before Yousuf Youhana hit a defiant 65 to help his side to a reasonable score.
