Best and worst totals in consecutive ODIs
by Muhammad Asim

On November 23, West Indies were dismissed for a paltry 125 runs in the second ODI by Zimbabwe at Bulawayo, after making a mammoth 347/6 in the first game against the same side a day earlier. The difference of 222 runs (347 — 125) thus provided only the ninth instance in the history of limited overs cricket when a differential of at least 200 runs resulted in a single side’s two consecutive completed innings totals. West Indies’ differential of 222 runs is now the joint-fourth highest by any side in ODI cricket history. For reader interest the accompanying table has the complete details.

Largest differential (difference) of runs in a side’s total in two consecutive ODIs

[Qualification criteria: a differential of 175 runs or more and completed team innings (all-out or atleast where 45 overs (or more) were bowled)] [27]
