Brian Edrich joined Glamorgan in 1954 after seven seasons on the Kent staff, and in 1949 the left-handed batsman and off-spinner had shared in a record partnership of 161 for the ninth wicket with Frank Ridgway against Sussex at Tunbridge Wells, during which he had made a career-best 193*.
 
Edrich played in Glamorgan`s middle-order until 1956 when he became the county`s Assistant Coach. In 1964 he left South Wales to take up a coaching appointment at St.Edward`s, Oxford, and between 1966 and 1970 he played in Minor County cricket for Oxfordshire.
