Educated at Millfield School, Alistair Dalton played for Glamorgan between 1994 and 1996. Despite a decent record in 2nd XI cricket, the right-hander only struck one half-century at first-class level and he failed to command a regular place in their first team.

After leaving the county`s staff at the end of the 1996 season, Dalton had a brief trial with Worcestershire, before training as a professional pilot.
