Brief profile of Michael Brain

Michael Brain played once for Glamorgan in first-class cricket – against Oxford University in 1930. Like his older brother Pat, and father William, Michael Brain was a useful wicket-keeper and he won a place in the Repton XI in 1928 and 1929. He also played in the county`s 2nd XI in their Minor County games between 1935 and 1947, and he had a distinguished record in club cricket, playing for, amongst others, Cardiff C.C, and the South Wales Hunts.

 

Brain also worked in the family`s brewing business, and he served as Chairman of Brain`s Brewey from 1955 until his death in 1971.
