Gordon became involved in the game through his father who played club cricket and is now an administrator. He also plays hockey and football. Gordon was captain of his club’s youth teams between 1998 and 2000 and has represented his district at U13, U15, U17 and U19 levels. In 2003 he was part of his club’s (Grange) Scottish National Cricket League senior title winning squad. He has taken over 200 wickets since he started playing in 1998 at the age of almost 13 years old. Because of his ability to move the ball at such great pace, Brett Lee (Australia) is Gordon’s favourite player.
