Player:IK Pathan

DateLine: 5th May 2009

Irfan is probably the best fast-bowling all-rounder India have seen post the Kapil Dev days. The younger of the Pathan brothers, Irfan has been extremely good in the shortest format of the game. He has also improved his bowling a lot after being dropped from the Indian side. And now with seam and movement alongside good pace back in his armoury, he definitely looks very dangerous. Irfan was one of the best bowlers on show during India's T20 World Cup win in South Africa, a couple of years back. He picked up 10 wickets and was the man of the match of the finals against Pakistan, where he picked up crucial wickets, that included the ones of Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik and that of Shahid Afridi. The lanky all-rounder has been in good form in the IPL second season and his performances definitely stand him in good stead for the number seven slot in the playing 11 for the T20 World Cup in England.
