The Sri Lankan National Cricket Selectors are likely to name a second string Sri Lanka team captained by Tillekaratne Dilshan for the forthcoming ODI Tri Series in Zimbabwe as per the sources.

India, which is the other team in the tournament also named a second string squad captained by Suresh Raina last week, and Sri Lankan selectors seems to have followed suit in deciding to rest senior players like skipper Kumar Sangakkara and former Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene. Muttiah Muralitharan who returned home early from the Twenty20 World Cup which is currently being played in the West Indies will also not be considered for selection and the vice captaincy left vacant by him will be filled by young all rounder Angelo Mathews, sources added.

It is not clear whether the selectors would pick veteran Sanath Jayasuriya. The Indian team is led by Raina and has Virat Kohli as his deputy.
