Nilantha Cooray is not being re-signed by Rawtenstall. Skipper Vinny Hanson explained: "Nilly has done well this year especially with the bat. However we feel we need a little bit more on the bowling front next year. I would like to thank Nilly on behalf of myself and the club for his efforts and enthusiasm throughout the season"

Rawtenstall signed Nilantha as a late replacement for fellow Sri Lankan Malinga Bandara. In the 18 matches that he played for the club Nilantha scored 609 runs at 43.5 with an unbeaten 114 against East Lancs his highest score.
