Mumbai, Feb. 11 Sarfraz Ahmed's elevation as a new captain of the ODI team in Pakistan has been keenly followed by his uncle (mother's brother) Mehboob Hasan in India.

The 30-year-old Sarfraz was already a captain of the T-20 side but on Thursday was named the replacement for Azhar Ali, who relinquished the role following poor performance in Australia recently.
"It is a great news and we are all very excited here", the 52-year-old uncle, speaking exclusively over his mobile from Etawah, said.
"He is a son of my sister (Akila banu) and why would not we be so happy over his rise in the career?, he asks.
"Sarfraz became the father of a baby boy (Abdulla) just 10 days ago and this first newly born boy has brought luck to him".
In fact, the uncle did go to Pakistan to attend Sarfraz's wedding (in 2015).
"After UP elections here I may again go to Pakistan to see my sister, who was recently very ill".
"Sarfaraz had to return home (from overseas tour) when his mother was admitted in the ICU. She is recovering well but I have to go there to see her".
Getting Pakistani visa will not be a problem for Mehboob Hasan. "Being a government servant, I have to obtain permission and need to go to Delhi for completing my visa formalities", he said.
Sarfaraz's uncle is an employee (senior clerk) at Etawahs Agricultural Engineering College and lives at Civil Lines, close to bungalow of Akhliesh Yadav, the Chief Minister of the Uttar Pradesh.
