PCB announce floodlight contracts for Multan and Faisalabad

With regard to installation of flood lights, Pakistan Cricket Board would like to place the following facts for public knowledge:

 

1: After due diligence an advertisement was placed in leading newspapers on 13th April 2005 to appoint a Consultant/Designer to carry out illumination design (flood lights) for Multan and Faisalabad Cricket Stadiums.

 

2: Only two firms showed interest and submitted documents/fee structure namely, M/s National Engineering Services Pakistan (Pvt.) Limited (NESPAK), Lahore and M/s Engineering Associates, Karachi.

 

3: NESPAK was selected on the basis of their experience and also lower fees. It would be related that NESPAK were also appointed as Consultants for the flood lights installed by M/s Philips at Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi stadiums.

 

4: Advertisements were placed in leading newspapers on 11th January 2005 inviting tenders from eligible firms duly licensed by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).

 

5: The last date for submission of tender documents being 12th August 2005, tenders were opened the same day in the presence of all the bidders or their representatives.

 

6: The following parties submitted tender documents:

 

a: M/s Philips Electrical Industries of Pakistan Limited, Karachi.
b: M/s ICC (Pvt.) Limited, Karachi (Representing Dev Musco Lighting Private Limited).
c: M/s Tyco Fire and Security Pakistan (Pvt.) Limited, Lahore.
d: M/s Oslo Lighting Solutions, Karachi.
e: M/s UAE Engineering Co, Lahore.

 

7: M/s Philips were selected on the basis of their financially lowest bid and conformance to the technical requirements. The fact that installation of flood lights at Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi was also carried out by M/s Philips, their experience in this field was also kept in mind at the time of selection.

 

Flood lights are expected to be in place at Multan and Faisalabad in time for the upcoming series against India.
