Umpires appointed for Super League and Plate Championship quarter-finals
by International Cricket Council

The International Cricket Council has announced the umpire appointments for the quarter-final stages of the ICC U/19 Cricket World Cup in Malaysia.

 

With the initial group phase now complete, the tournament is now split into the Super League and the Plate Championship with the top two teams from each group going into the Super League quarter-finals in Kuala Lumpur and the bottom two heading to Johor for the Plate quarter-finals.

 

In KL on Sunday, India will take on England in the Super League at Kinrara Oval in a match that will be telecast live by ICC’s host broadcaster ESPN-STAR Sports. The on-field umpires for that game will be Gary Baxter and Marais Erasmus of the Emirates International Panel of ICC Umpires along with Ian Robinson (TV) and Peter Hartley (fourth official).

 

Elsewhere in the city at Bayuemas, Bangladesh faces South Africa with Zameer Haider and GA Prathapkumar standing. Enamul Hoque-Moni and Tyron Wijiwardena will be third and fourth umpires respectively.

 

The following day, Sri Lanka faces New Zealand at the Royal Selangor Club. The on-field umpires for that game will be Enamul Hoque-Moni and Ian Robinson with GA Prathapkumar and Gary Baxter supporting.

 

And in the televised game at Kinrara Oval, Pakistan and Australia go head to head with Peter Hartley and Tyron Wijiwardena standing and Marais Erasmus and Zameer Haider as third and fourth umpires.

 

In Johor, the Plate Championship also gets underway on Sunday with Malaysia playing Namibia and Nepal up against Zimbabwe. On Monday, West Indies takes on Ireland at MPTI while Bermuda will play Papua New Guinea at Johor Cricket Academy.

 

Umpires Paul Baldwin, Buddhi Pradhan, Steve Davis, Jeff Luck, Clyde Duncan, Lakani Oala and Sarika Prasad will all be officiating in the Plate Championship.

 

The match referees will be Chris Broad for the Super League quarter-finals in Kuala Lumpur and Mike Procter for the Plate Championship quarter-finals in Johor. Both referees are members of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees.

 

The Super League and Plate Championship quarter-final appointments are as follows:

 

24 Feb – India v England (Super League quarter-final 1), Kinrara Oval – Gary Baxter and Marais Erasmus (on-field), Ian Robinson (third), Peter Hartley (fourth)

 

24 Feb – Bangladesh v South Africa (Super League quarter-final 2), Bayuemas – Zameer Haider and GA Prathapkumar (on-field), Enamul Hoque-Moni (third), Tyron Wijiwardena (fourth)

 

24 Feb – Malaysia v Namibia (Plate quarter-final 1), Johor Cricket Academy – Paul Baldwin and Buddhi Pradhan (on-field), Steve Davis (third) and Jeff Luck (fourth)

 

24 Feb – Nepal v Zimbabwe (Plate quarter-final 2), MPTI, Johor – Clyde Duncan and Lakani Oala (on-field), Sarika Prasad (third), Roger Dill (fourth)

 

25 Feb – Sri Lanka v New Zealand (Super League quarter-final 3), Royal Selangor Club – Enamul Hoque-Moni and Ian Robinson (on-field), GA Prathapkumar (third), Gary Baxter (fourth).

 

25 Feb – Pakistan v Australia (Super League quarter-final 4), Kinrara Oval – Peter Hartley and Tyron Wijiwardena (on-field), Marais Erasmus (third), Zameer Haider (fourth)

 

25 Feb – West Indies v Ireland (Plate quarter-final 3), MPTI, Johor – Roger Dill and Steve Davis (on-field), Paul Baldwin (third) and Buddhi Pradhan (fourth)

 

25 Feb – Bermuda v Papua New Guinea (Plate quarter-final 4), Johor Cricket Academy – Sarika Prasad and Jeff Luck (on-field), Clyde Duncan (third), Lakani Oala (fourth)

 

Appointments for the latter stages of the event will be made in due course.
