DateLine: 3rd June 2008

The 29-year-old medium-fast bowler is known to be a One-Day specialist and thus has played more in this form of the game. This trend has been noticeable since his domestic cricket days where he has played 141 List A matches, picking up 199 wickets at an average of 25.84. In 53 First Class games, he has picked up 159 wickets at 26 per wicket.

However, he has not been able to replicate this success on to the international arena. He has mainly played ODI cricket for the New Zealand team, and has found success while doing so. Made his debut way back in 2001 against Pakistan and since then, has represented his country in 79 ODIs. He has scalped 115 wickets at an average of 26, but regular injuries have taken their toll on his fitness, and thus chances to play Test cricket have been very few in number.

This is evident in his numbers table, as he made his Test debut only in 2004 against England, and has since played only 11 tests. But he has done well in the limited opportunities that he has got, with 33 wickets at an average of 26.

His behavior on the cricket field has been nothing short of eccentric and he has been reprimanded for the same on quite a few occasions.
