Saurav scores his 16th test hundred
As the dusk settled on the PCA stadium in Mohali ,India took control of the second test here at Mohali. A wicket of the last ball of the day by Amit Mishra,who trapped Michael Clarke right in front put India right in front. Michael Clarke got out of the last ball of the day for the second time in the series. Australia finished the second day at 102 for 4 ,367 runs behind and 6 wickets left.
Saurav's day
It was Saurav's day as he answered his critics the only way he knows.Post lunch he got to his hundred. It was a great moment for him as he punched his fist.Only he knew what this moment meant for him. His last series and this probably would be the best way to go.But he would want to thank Dhoni on the other end.
Brilliant knock
Indian Captain Dhoni played a brilliant knock early on in the morning. After the early dismissal of Ishant Sharma caught fending to a short ball of Siddle,Australia were on the offensive trying to bowl short at the Indian batsmen. Dhoni took up the challenge and started to hook and pull the Aussie bowlers.It was a brilliant counter attack from the Indian captain.He was quick to seize the moment.He realized the importance of a huge first innings score. He scored his runs quickly.Dhoni was unlucky to miss out on a hundred given out leg before by Rudi Koertzen, for a brilliant 92.
Seamer's strike early
Zaheer khan struck early removing Hayden,rattling his stumps.Ponting once again fell to Ishant who trapped him in front. Spinners came into their own as Amit Mishra struck very early getting his first test wicket.Katich was beaten and bowled. He capped it off with a wicket of the last ball of the day rounding up a great day for India.
