 Bosman plays a cut shot

Coming up through the A ranks Loots Bosman first attracted attention when he slammed a 22-ball fifty in February 2006 this being the fastest in the Standard Bank Pro20 Series. Player of the Series in last year’s edition Bosman became the first batsman to score a century in the competition reaching three figures off just 43 balls. An aggressive right handed opening batsman who believes that the ball is there to be hit hard and high Bosman’s outstanding record in Twenty20 cricket brought him into national reckoning and he was included in the South African squad to tour Sri Lanka for the tri series in August 2006 that also featured India. But he did not get a chance to play after South Africa withdrew citing security concerns. The following month he made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe at home and impressed while scoring 88 off 70 balls with eleven fours and three sixes in his third game and this got him a berth in the squad to tour India for the ICC Champions Trophy.
