Match notes
Requiring an outright result to give them a chance to challenge for the Championships Australian Capital Territory set out for quick runs and then closed at lunch on the second day. Also desirous of outright points Queensland Country took up the challenge and closed their innings after sixty-five minutes. In the remaining time Queensland was able to dismiss their opponents to gain only the second outright result of all Championships matches to date, these two teams also being involved in the first such result in 1989-90.
