Source states that the weather was very bad. The county did not have their full strength. Mr.W.G. Grace did not play. The names of the villages where the Colts came from was not given, or they would have been added. In another account this match was played on May 9 & 10. [The Colts' opening batsman L.M. Day, according to a note by F.S. Ashley-Cooper, was not caught by Mackeson, the name being deleted.]
