Bad light ended play at 4.42 on the second day with 4.5 overs lost. To make up for the lost time play commenced fifteen minutes early on the third morning. Scheduled hours of play were 9.45 to 11.45; 12.25 to 2.25; 2.45 to 4.45 with 90 overs to be bowled on each day. The match concluded at 3.33pm on the third day. A University examination on Saturday, 28 June prevented CD Hartly taking his place in the Q.A.S. team on that day and for the day he was replaced by SJ Farrell. Farrell kept wicket and also batted on the second day of the match. In the thirty-fourth over of the Q.A.S. second innings LA Carseldine shouldered his bat to a ball which had been called no-ball. The ball hit the stumps and then went to the boundary. The umpire then signalled four runs to the batsman -- in fact it should have been four byes and added to no-balls -- and acknowledged by the batsman that he should not have been credited with these runs.
