--> ESP Mack completed a hat-trick in the Hertfordshire first innings (victims: Jones, J, C Pigg, G E B Pritchett)
This card comes from the Minor Counties Research Project Hertfordshire completed their victory on the second day. Mack took a 'hat-trick' for Norfolk in the Hertfordshire first innings, his victims being Jones, Pigg and Pritchett. It was the first hat-trick in the competition, none having been taken in 1895. During the season Arnold of Worcestershire and Thompson of Northamptonshire were also to repeat the feat. Norfolk played just four Championship matches - home and away against Hertfordshire and Worcestershire - and did not qualify for the Competition Table.
