This was the first ever Championship match to be completed on the first day, Worcestershire winning by an innings and 42 runs at 5.30 pm. For the winners, Arnold took 11 wickets in the match for 43 runs. It was statistically the third best match bowling performance of the season, and he took 7 wickets for nine runs in the Norfolk second innings. He also top-scored with 54 not out, an innings that included 11 fours. Norfolk's second innings score of 28 runs, and the match aggregate of 232 runs for a completed match, were both the lowest of the season. The match aggregate was also a new record low for the competition. None of the 20 Norfolk dismissals fell to catches.
