Wiltshire won this return match with 15 minutes to spare after declaring their innings 173 runs ahead, thus completing the double over Oxfordshire having won at Banbury earlier in the month. Rain interrupted play several times on the first day and brought an early conclusion. For the winners, Smart scored 82 not out, Miller 70, and Overton 58 not out. Smart and Overton had an undefeated partnership of possibly over one hundred runs for the Wiltshire ninth wicket. For the visitors Marsh top-scored with 57 not out, and in the Oxfordshire first innings he put on 85 runs for the ninth wicket with Moulder.
