Rain delayed the start of the match until 12.40 pm on the first day. Set 152 runs to win with over four hours to bat, the home team were dismissed for 59. For Durham, Turnbull took 12 wickets in the match for only 36 runs, including 7 for 20 in the Cambridgeshire first innings. It was statistically the third best match bowling performance of the season. For the winners, Adamson top-scored with 32, whilst Prest top-scored with 40 for Cambridgeshire.
