Bousfield and W S Dobson put on 103 runs for the Durham fifth wicket. Pool's 50 for Northamptonshire contained 7 fours. The 129 runs conceded by H E Kingston in the Durham innings was the second highest total of the season. Horton was reported as being absent on the afternoon of the second day 'attending a wedding'. The match between the two teams at West Hartlepool in July had been won by Northamptonshire.
