Buckinghamshire won this return match with 15 minutes to spare after dismissing Berkshire in an hour for 45 runs. A heavy rainstorm interrupted play on the first day, when two overs had been bowled after lunch, and it delayed further progress until 4.30 pm. For the winners, Nash took 12 wickets in the match for 68 runs and Wright the remaining 8 for 56. Wright top-scored with 68. For Berkshire, Barker took 7 wickets for 80 runs in the Buckinghamshire first innings. The match between the two sides at Reading the previous week had been won by Berkshire. When dismissing Rowe in the Berkshire second innings, Nash reached the career milestone of two hundred wickets in championship matches.
