In the Surrey 2nd XI innings Holland and von Ernsthausen put on 245 runs for the Surrey sixth wicket, which was a new record for the Championship, exceeding the 203 put on by L G A Collins and A C M Croome for Berkshire against Buckinghamshire at Aylesbury in 1898. Davis and Graburn had an unbroken partnership 87 runs for the tenth wicket. The Surrey total of 503-9 was the second highest of the season. For Norfolk, Hayter's 81 not out included 2 fives and 11 fours in an innings lasting 90 minutes. Blake's 3 stumping in an innings equalled the Championship record.
