Monmouthshire won this match by 281 runs at 3.35 pm on the second day. Monmouthshire declared both their innings. For the winners, Steeples took 12 wickets in the match for 69 runs. There were 11 fours in Diver's 120. He batted for 2 minutes short of three hours. T B Williams scored 69 not out and Silverlock 62. In the home side's first innings, Silverlock and Diver put on 128 runs for the second wicket. For Cornwall, Tresawna top scored with 49. In the Cornwall second innings when the score was 21 for 7 wickets, T B Williams took over the wicket-keeping from Diver. Towards the end of the Monmouthshire first innings, W N Bickford-Smith injured his knee and left the field. Stedman and then P C Phillips acted as substitute fielder.
