The feature of this match was the 282 runs scored by Garnett in the Berkshire first innings that broke the record for the highest individual score held by H E Morgan of Glamorgan of 254 scored against Monmouthshire at Cardiff in 1901. The record has not been beaten since. Garnett scored 59 in the second innings. His run aggregate for the match of 341 was the highest during the season. For Wiltshire, R W Awdry scored 122 and C S Awdry 87. The 213 runs conceded by Smith were the highest for a match in the season. The match aggregate of 1,163 was the highest of the season and also a new record for the Championship. R W Awdry kept wicket for Wiltshire in the Berkshire second innings.
