This match was won by Dorset by 88 runs on the second day, after Cornwall had saved the follow-on by one run. The visiting county were set a victory target in their second innings of 189 runs. Torrential rain fell after the close of play on the first day and it caused a ½ hour delay in the start on the second to allow the pitch to dry out. For the winners, Woolley took 10 wickets in the match for 52 runs, inclding 6 for 21 in the Cornwall first innings. Gordon scored 69.
