This match was drawn, with Dorset winning on first innings, after only sixteen wickets fell over the two full days of play. For the home side, there were 1 five and 12 fours in Orchard's 122, scored in three hours. Shelley's 88 included 1 six and 6 fours, Heslop scored 69 and Bazalgette 65. In the Devon innings, Shelley and Orchard put on 152 runs for the first wicket. For the visitors, there were 19 fours in Budge's 192 not out, an innings of 6 hours.
