Kent 2nd XI won this return match by an innings and 161 runs at 1.00 pm on the second day. The match between the two sides at Town Malling earlier in the month had also been won by Kent. In beautiful weather Kent declared their innings closed after 4 hours. For the winners Morfee scored 123 in 70 minutes with 6 sixes and 16 fours. Hosie scored 88 in 90 minutes and Barlow 56. Morfee and Hosie added 192 runs for the sixth wicket. Preston took 15 wickets in the match for 96 runs including a career best 9 for 74 in the second innings. The Wiltshire first innings lasted only 85 minutes. In their second innings Farebrother and Fraser put on 58 for the tenth wicket.
