Silverlock scored 67 not out and there were 10 fours in Hudden's 51. For Wiltshire Awdry top scored with 42. One newspaper reported that T Luce was due to bat at number 6 for Wiltshire but did not arrive. The innings closed at 47-9 with T Smart, J A Smart and F W Stancomb on the ground but not called upon. It seems that J A Smart subsequently took his place.
