For the winners there were 15 fours in JC Bickford-Smith's 87 not out; in Cornwall's second innings he added 85 for the 9th wicket with Hawken.
Whiting took 8 wickets for 31 runs in Dorset's first innings and 9 wickets for 80 in their second, giving him match figures of 17 for 111:
he was the third bowler to take 17 wickets in a Championship match (after HE White of Hertfordshire and SF Barnes of Staffordshire).
5 of his victims fell to catches off his own bowling.
For the losers there were 10 fours in Sewell's 55 and Farrer scored 55 not out.
