Staffordshire won this return match by 10 wickets at 12.20pm on the second day.
They had also won the match between the two sides at Dukinfield in June. The ground was so wet on Monday that the start was delayed until 12:45pm. For Staffordshire Barnes arrived a little late so Awty opened the bowling with Wilson. Barnes then took 6 wickets for 7 runs. When Staffordshire batted Barnes was the top scorer with 44 obtained in 1 hour 45 minutes. He shared a last wicket partnership of 47 with Dearing, scored in 40 minutes. Wilson took 5 wickets for 36 runs in the Cheshire second innings. On the second day play began at 11.10am after an early shower. For Cheshire Jones was the top scorer with 24 and Smoker took 7 wickets for 55 runs in the Staffordshire first innings.
