Victoria Second XI first innings Queensland Second XI first innings Victoria Second XI second innings Queensland Second XI second innings Rain stopped play at 11.30 a.m. on the third day and with rain continuing play was abandoned for the day at 2.10 p.m. Queensland second XI seemed well placed for victory when they passed two hundred with only three wickets down, and later with their total at six for 278. Sippel was then dismissed and seven runs later Prestwidge and Creevey fell to successive balls. On the fourth and final day SB Waters replaced PR Reiffel in the Victorian team. Reiffel had been included in this Victorian Second XI team in order to give him some match play. He left the game on the last day to join the Australian team for the fourth Test match in Adelaide where he would be the Australian twelfth man, the position he had occupied in the third Test match. AD McGinty and MA Anderson were the nominated non batters for the teams.
