Born 27.2.1843 Broughton, Salford.
Died 27.4.1869 St.Leonards, Sussex.

His first match for Lancashire was at Old Trafford on 27th to 29th June 1866, when he scored 15 and 0. In August, at Liverpool, he scored 4 and 4 against Surrey. He played at Old Trafford the following year against Surrey scoring 14 and 4, and that was the end of his Lancashire career. Also in 1867 he played two more first-class matches, for the Gentlemen of the North against the Gentlemen of the South at the Middlesex County Ground, Islington, London, and for the North against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge.
