Tail-end batsman, right-arm fast bowler.
On 20th to 22nd June 1867 he played in his only first-class match, Lancashire versus Yorkshire at Whalley, when going in last, he scored 2 and 2 not out and took no wickets in his 22 four-ball overs. He was one of three Yorkshire born players in the Lancashire side.
On 1st to 3rd August 1867 he turned out for Twenty-two of Ashton-under-Lyne against the All England Eleven, when going in last he scored 0 not out and 0, took one wicket and three catches.
At the time of the 1881 Census a George Hibberd is living at Harthill-cum-Woodall, Yorkshire, aged 36 born at Todwick, Yorkshire, a stone mason, with his wife Hannah aged 32, and their three daughters and one son.
