- The fourth wicket partnership of 29 runs between Alok Kapali and Mohammad Ashraful was Bangladeshs best for this wicket against South Africa. The previous best was 12 bewteen Kapali and Sanwar Hossain at Bloemfontein on 22-02-2003.
- Shaun Pollock (4-35) was taking a four-wicket haul against Bangladesh for the second time in his career. He had also returned the figures of four for 32 at Kimberley on 09-10-2002. He became only third bowler after West Indian Vesbert Drakes (thrice) and Pakistans Saqlain Mushtaq (twice) to take four-wicket hauls on more than one occasion against Bangladesh.
