West Indian captain, Brian Lara, became the second West Indian after Desmond Haynes and the tenth in the world to have completed 8000 or more runs in Limited-Overs Internationals.
He achieved the feat during his 51st fifty - 75 not out off 65 balls against Australia in the seventh and final game at St.George's, Grenada on June 1, 2003.
Lara's feat of reaching 8000 runs in 216 matches is the second fastest after India's Sourav Ganguly (208 matches) in the history of Limited-Overs Internationals.
