  • This was 2013th match in ODI history.
  • This was the 100th meeting between the two sides. This provided the first instance in ODI history of two teams completing the century of contests between them. Pakistan - Sri Lanka (99) and Pakistan – West Indies (98) are likely to join them shortly.
  • The seventh wicket partnership of 54 runs between Omari Banks and Carlton Baugh is West Indies’ best for this wicket against Australia in all matches. This obliterates the previous record stand of 52 between Keith Boyce and Bernard Julien at Lord’s in the 1975 World Cup final.
  • Glenn McGrath (4-31) took four wickets in a match for the 14th time in his career – one more than the Warne – record for Australia.
  • McGrath has now taken 158 wickets in 107 matches, which makes him the most successful bowler in away matches for Australia. He moved ahead of Shane Warne who has a tally of 157 wickets from 109 matches. Incidentally Pakistan’s Wasim Akram holds the world record in this category with 430 wickets from 289 matches.
  • McGrath took three wickets in his tenth over.
  • The Man of the Match award was ninth for Glenn McGrath in his 181st match.
