  • The Main Oval in Hampshire Rose Bowl (Southampton) became England’s 22nd ground to host a One-Day InternationaI match. Only India (36) have used more grounds for ODIs.
  • The wicket of Sims was 15th for Pollock against Zimbabwe which makes him the leading wicket-taker for South Africa against Zimbabwe. He moved ahead of Cronje and Donald who both had taken 14 wickets each against Zimbabwe.
  • The ninth wicket unbroken stand of 44 runs between Heath Streak and Ray Price is Zimbabwe’s best for this wicket against South Africa. This obliterates the previous record stand of 28 between Malcolm Jarvis and John Traicos at Canberra on 10-03-1992.
  • The third wicket stand of 137 between Graeme Smith and Rudolph is South Africa’s best for this wicket against Zimbabwe leaving behind the 102 run-stand between Jacques Kallis and Jonty Rhodes at Bulawayo QC on 23-09-2001.
  • Mkhaya Ntini was winning his fourth Man of the match award.
