| Player: | I Dawood |
Ismail Dawood joined Glamorgan in 1998 after spells with Northamptonshire in 1994-1995, and Worcestershire from 1996 to 1997. The Dewsbury-born wicket-keeper also played for England Under-19 against India in 1994, the West Indies in 1994/95 and against South Africa in 1995. Whilst with the Welsh county, Dawood showed that he was also a useful lower-order batsman, and in 1999 he recorded a maiden first-class hundred by making 102 against Gloucestershire at Cardiff after being promoted to open the batting after injury to other players. Later in the season, he also created a new club record by not conceeding a bye as Lancashire totalled 556-6 dec. at Blackpool. Dawood left the county staff at the end of the 1999 season.
