Ryan Watkins is a very promising all-rounder on Glamorgan`s staff.

 

The left-handed batsman and right arm seam bowler has played 2nd XI cricket for the Welsh county since 2001 following some impressive performances for Newport C.C. and Blackwood C.C.

 

In 2002 he appeared for Glamorgan in their one-day friendly with Scotland, and then in 2003 he played in two Twenty20 matches. In 2004 Ryan made two further appearances in limited overs games, and had a successful summer with the 2nd XI.

 

Ryan made his first-class debut in 2005, and impressed several judges as an opening batsman in the final six weeks of the Championship season. He also delivered some useful spells as a change bowler, and the young all-rounder could be a player to look out for during 2006.
