SHAW, Henry.
Professional.
Born at Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, 21st May 1854.
Died at Derby, 8th November 1932.
In 1880 he was reported to be resident at Derby and working as a painter on the Midland Counties Railway. He was at that time engaged as a coach at Derby School. He was first tried by Derbyshire in 1875 and played in 14 first-class matches for them between then and 1884. He also played for Staffordshire 1883-97 and for Lincolnshire in 1890, during which time he was professional at Grantham and Burton-on-Trent. He was a first-class umpire in 1902.
At the time of the 1881 Census he was living at the New Inn, 123 Ferry Street, Stapenhill, Derby, aged 26 and a publican, with his wife Selina aged 30. They had one general servant.
