After a good three and a half hours of delay the umpires finally called off the third day's play. At the time of abandonement, It was dark, gloomy, cold and rain was still chucking down.

 

The match would start half an hour earlier tomorrow to make up some time lost. At stumps yesterday Andrew Strauss was batting alongside Ian Bell as England were in a comfortable position at 116 for two, trailing by 147 runs.
