Event: | Indian Premier League 2009/10 |
DateLine: 26th November 2009
Broad had turned down an offer to play in the second edition of the IPL as he decided to concentrate on his preparations for the Ashes. But according to reports, the pace bowlers agent has contacted Lalit Modi to get his client inducted into one of the eight franchisees.

We have had contact from Craig [Sackfield, Broads agent] and all players now have to write to me directly and arrange an NOC [no objection certificate] from their board by Dec 31. Then we will fix a minimum bid price and circulate their names to the franchises.
A lot of the slots are taken but teams will probably be able to hire one or two players. The England players in Bangladesh will miss the first 10 days but the Australians and New Zealanders are unavailable until much later so thats not a problem. There is a good chance of a lot of England players being involved, said Lalit Modi.
According to Sackfield, Broads name is being considered by four franchisees which could lead to a hike in his price in the bidding process.LATEST SCORES
