Ground:Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur
Scorecard:Bangladesh v India
Player:Mahmudullah
Event:India in Bangladesh 2009/10

DateLine: 24th January 2010

The Indian seamers did well to restrict Bangladesh to a modest 233 while the Indian team in reply scored 69 in 13 overs at stumps.

Batting first the Bangladeshi top order and middle order was blown away by the Indian pacers Ishant Sharma and Zaheer Khan and it could have been worse had not Mahmudullah (96 not out, 156 balls, 13x4) batted sensibly. The openers were nipped out in no time and then Ashraful (39, 31 balls, 6x4) played a delightful cameo before he self-destructed. Shakib (34, 67 balls, 4x4) and Mushfiqur Rahim (30, 61 balls, 6x4) did well to stem the rot before the seamers once again got into the act. Mahmudullah was well-supported by the tailenders as he neared a well-deserved maiden ton. But he was stranded on 96 as the Bangladeshi innings got terminated at 233.

Indian team in reply once again got off to a solid start as openers Sehwag (41 not out, 40 balls, 6x4) and Gambhir (26 not out, 38 balls, 4x4) as at stumps the indian score read 69 for no loss.
