Brothers and Sons, Tripunithura team which fielded today have a historic importance. The team is from a single family fan from the sons and their sons of two sisters of Tripunithura Thampuran family. Team has 5 direct brothers and two twin brothers. All except three have played representative cricket.

This is the first time in India a team from a single family had played in a recognised tournament. The team led by former Ranji player RVK Thampuran (Maru Thampuran).
