Lowerhouse have signed South African all rounder Cobus Pienaar as their professional for the 2014 Fosters Lancashire League season.

Cobus who represents the Titans Franchise in South Africa is a left handed batsmen and right arm medium fast bowler.
Also the captain of the Northerns state side Cobus has played 62 First-class games, scoring 3183 runs at 33.50 with a best of 185. His bowling has captured 126 wickets at 30.20 with a best of 5-39.
Cobus recently helped Titans to the final of the Momentum One Day Cup with vital runs batting at number three and important wickets as Titans recovered from a poor start to their campaign to reach the final against Cape Cobras. Bad weather curtailed the final and the cup was shared.
He also played as sub professional for Nelson and Bacup in 2012 when he was professional at Middleton.
Lowerhouse Managing Director Matthew Stansfield commented: "We are delighted to welcome a player of Cobus' quality to Lowerhouse. We were aware Francois was unable to return quite early last season and we have tracked Cobus for some time. His recent form in South Africa is indicative of his quality and we feel his status as a state captain and genuine all rounder compliments our side perfectly. I've spoken to Cobus at length and he's looking forward to the challenge".
Lowerhouse would like to thank Gary Hunt at Cric-Intro for his assistance.LATEST SCORES
