Todmorden have signed Australian all rounder Ashton Turner as their new professional.

 

The 22 year-old Western Australian is a former Australian Under 19 Test star.

 

The off spinner has played ten First-class matches since his debut in 2013 and is currently playing for Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash.

 

The highly rated Turner caused something of a stir when he was selected to play against Sussex in Australia's tour to England in 2013 before he had made his First-class debut.

 

Todmorden captain Andrew Sutcliffe said: "We are delighted to have captured Ashton for the 2016 summer, we are hoping that he will be a success on and off the field. It's exciting to sign a current cricketer playing First-class cricket in Australia, we have received several positive references for him from past professionals and we are blooming forward to the summer."
